COMARCH - Case Study: Partnership with Technicolor

Implementation of Comarch E-invoicing at Technicolor

Olivier Labelle, Head of Corporate Finance at Technicolor, talks about achieving success by working with Comarch’s team to transform and automate the Global Accounts Payable process.

Technicolor is a worldwide technology leader in the media and entertainment sector, at the forefront of digital innovation. Its activities are organised into three segments: Technology, Entertainment Services and Connected Home. For over a century, Technicolor has been a key contributor to video technology development, now holding leading positions globally in technology development and the provision of digital production, postproduction and distribution solutions for content creators, Pay-TV operators and network service providers.

Technicolor's Olivier Labelle, Head of Corporate Finance, said, “Before implementing the Comarch solution, document registration and processing consumed considerable time and manual effort. Cost assignment and approval processes required extensive email communication, complicating the tracking and management of progress. The lack of ERP system integration meant data from approved invoices had to be manually registered, potentially affecting their accuracy. Now, with the Comarch project completed, we have a comprehensive solution that enables prompt and flexible document processing. As a technology company, we value genuine IT expertise, making Comarch a highly recommendable partner.”

Solution

Comarch’s Accounts Payable solution has enabled Technicolor to redesign, streamline and automate financial document processing. This implementation included unification of the Global Accounts Payable process, with Comarch working closely with Technicolor to develop a comprehensive and flexible solution. Comarch deployed a proprietary SaaS product and provided consulting and development services during the project's implementation phase.

The solution enables or facilitates:

  • Capturing incoming invoices from all channels: paper, PDF by email, and EDI (electronic data interchange)
  • Automated data extraction (OCR – optical character recognition) and validation
  • Workflow for cost assignment
  • Verification and acceptance
  • Electronic invoice archiving
  • Two-way, manageable synchronisation with six ERP systems

Benefits

The successful implementation has helped Technicolor to achieve key objectives set at the project's onset. Users within Technicolor now enjoy several benefits from the Comarch system, including:

  • A high automation rate
  • Flexible workflow adjustments
  • Integration capabilities
  • System usability
  • Single sign-on functionality
  • SaaS delivery model

The system has not only provided convenience and efficiency for Technicolor and its end users, but has also positively impacted business results. Key improvements include:

  • Enhanced process quality
  • Shortened invoice approval times
  • Auditable, streamlined processes
  • Centralised management of all AP invoices
  • Self-service functionality, allowing users to check invoice statuses within the Comarch system
  • Improved supplier relationships
