Delphi Alliance: Rewriting the Rules of Global Professional Collaboration

Özgür Demirdoven, Independent Board Member at Delphi Alliance, describes how a four-year-old multi-practice alliance is outpacing established networks - and what comes next.

When Delphi Alliance entered the International Accounting Bulletin (IAB) global rankings for the first time in 2025, debuting at 19th position, it confirmed what its members already knew: something fundamentally different was being built. Not bigger. Different.

Founded just four years ago in Cyprus and Greece, Delphi Alliance has grown to 46 member firms across 20 countries and three continents - not by replicating the traditional accounting network model, but by rejecting it. Where conventional networks organise around a single discipline and compete on size, Delphi operates across 13 professional service lines spanning accounting, tax, legal, advisory, fiduciary, real estate, IT, security, human resources, marketing, compliance, venture capital, and professional training. One firm per discipline per country, by exclusivity. No overlap. No competition between members.

The future that is unfolding isn't one where finance and accounting professionals are replaced – but one where their responsibilities will change. Success in this transition depends on making clear assessments of where AI will add value, establishing clear policies and governance in use, and the cultivation of skills that complement technical capabilities.

ACCA expects that coming years will see organisations develop more integrated workflows based on the principle that AI adoption is not just about distinguishing high versus low-value activities – but focusing on outcomes, quality and value.

Only a minority of finance and accounting teams have implemented AI solutions – but these resources are widely available, and organisations are reviewing opportunities and workforce needs.

AI adoption is expected to accelerate in coming years, especially as our data shows investment on AI initiatives is increasing, and widespread cloud adoption provides a crucial foundation for AI implementation.

The profession is still in the invention and adoption stage of AI, as demonstrated by investment data and current adoption/usage statistics. And the profession is embracing the learning and employment challenge offered by AI as shown by the recently announced changes to the ACCA Qualification which embraces emerging advances in technology and sustainability.

The report adds that widescale use of a general-purpose technology, like AI, may take longer than anticipated.

Christos Christodoulou, CEO, Delphi Alliance

"Combined global turnover is not the metric by which we measure success," states Christos Christodoulou, founder and CEO. "What matters is how effectively we collaborate to support our clients - and our growing presence on the geopolitical stage. Reaching IAB Top 20 in four years was a fantastic recognition, but even more importantly, it signals that the industry is beginning to acknowledge that the future of professional services isn't about size alone. It's about the depth and breadth of what you can deliver."

A Year of Acceleration

The past twelve months have been transformational. In September 2025, I was appointed as anIindependent Board Member, responsible for Growth and Development at Delphi Alliance, following my former role as EVP of Global Commerce at Allinial Global, where I expanded the network from 86 to 113 countries. In less than six months, at Delphi Alliance, we have welcomed new members and strategic partners across the UK, Italy, Turkey, India, Germany, Estonia, and Malta, increasing the Alliance's combined turnover by 15.3%.

But numbers tell only part of the story. What distinguishes 2025–2026 is the infrastructure Delphi has built to sustain its growth.

The Leaders Club, launched in early 2026, bringing together CEOs of member firms for strategic dialogue and executive-level collaboration. The inaugural digital meeting drew participation from across the network, with in-person sessions now planned for Zurich and a major networking event in Istanbul in October.

The Strategic Partners Ecosystem has expanded to include Julius Baer (private wealth management), TenSense (organisational diagnostics and CRM), and XN Consultancy (security services) - creating a support layer that spans private banking, technology, and physical security. Uniquely, Delphi accepts no referral fees or commissions from these partnerships. All negotiated discounts pass directly to member firms and their clients.

Digital Workgroups - structured by country, discipline, and region - provide regular touchpoints for members to share expertise, coordinate on cross-border matters, and deepen local collaborations between conferences.

And the Ambassador Programme has placed senior member firm representatives in key markets to foster relationships and convey the Delphi narrative directly to potential members and clients.

Where Referrals Become Real

Multi-practice referrals and sharing of multiple resources are the promise every alliance makes. Delphi delivers them.

In early 2026, a UK-based legal member, needed a New York attorney for an aircraft transaction dispute involving escrowed funds. Through the Alliance's leadership network, a qualified referral was identified and introduced the same day - under 24 hours from request to connection.

"What sets Delphi apart is speed and trust," says the Managing Partner of the UK member firm. "When you need a specialist in another jurisdiction, you don't have time for bureaucracy. The Alliance delivered exactly the right introduction, immediately."

Across the Mediterranean corridor, referrals flow regularly between Cyprus, Greece, Malta and Italy firms connecting clients to fiduciary specialists, audit and accounting firms referring work across borders, all within the trusted Delphi ecosystem. These are not theoretical. They are documented, recurring, and growing.

Istanbul and Beyond

In October 2026, Delphi will host a major session in Istanbul - positioning the Alliance at the crossroads of Europe, the Middle East, and Asia. Turkey's strategic significance as a business gateway makes it a natural hub for Delphi's expansion ambitions, and the session will serve as both a networking event and a platform for members to explore joint opportunities in the region.

The geographic growth strategy is deliberate, and data driven. Priority markets for 2026–2027 include the DACH region (Germany, Austria, Switzerland), the Nordics, Continental Europe, the Balkans, MENA, and North America. Each target reflects a combination of member demand, referral flow patterns, and strategic gaps in the current network.

We don't grow for the sake of growing. Every new market we enter, must strengthen the ecosystem for existing members. When we add a firm in Germany or Italy, it's because our members in Cyprus, the UK, and Malta already have clients who need trusted professionals in those jurisdictions.

The Delphi Difference

What makes Delphi Alliance fundamentally different from the established networks it now sits alongside in the IAB rankings?

First, the multi-practice model. Thirteen service lines mean that a member firm's client can access legal, IT, security, real estate, HR, and venture capital support through the same trusted alliance - not just audit and tax. No single-discipline network can replicate this.

Second, radical transparency. Every member pays the same annual fee regardless of firm size, headcount, or turnover. There are no binding contracts. Members can opt out with three months' notice. Yet retention stands at 97.5%, with only one departure in the past year.

Third, exclusivity. One firm per discipline per country guarantees that referral workflows without internal competition. Members know that when work comes through the Alliance for their territory, it comes to them.

Fourth, speed. Referrals are facilitated in hours, not weeks. The Leaders Club, WhatsApp communities, and personal relationships between firm leaders mean that when a client need arises, the response is immediate.

And fifth, convening power. Delphi's 2025 Global Conference in Malta was opened by Roberta Metsola, president of the European Parliament, and featured geopolitical investment panels with senior government representatives from India, Israel, and Malta. The event was broadcast on primetime Maltese television. No other mid-market alliance operates at this level of institutional engagement. Delphi promotes the interaction of the private sector with the public sector, establishing channels for direct investments and joint ventures.

Looking Ahead

The next twelve months will see Delphi Alliance deepen its presence in target markets, expand the Strategic Partners Ecosystem, and host its first in-person Leaders Club CEO session. The Istanbul roadshow in October will mark another milestone, bringing the Alliance's multi-practice model to one of the world's most dynamic business corridors.

“Our members are the heartbeat of Delphi," says Christodoulou. "We are witnessing an alliance that continues to grow fast and set the precedent for collaboration across 13 professions. Many milestones have been achieved, and so many more are on the horizon."

For independent professional firms seeking international reach without sacrificing their identity, Delphi Alliance offers something the market hasn't seen before: a genuine alternative.
